DEMOCRATS ENDORSE ASSEMBLY CANDIDATE, BUT PRIMARY COMING

LaGRANGE – Dutchess County Democrats backed Jonathan Smith of Hyde Park to be the party’s candidate to face incumbent, Republican Assemblyman Joel Miller this November. Smith received about 60 percent of the vote in last month’s Democratic Party nominating convention over challenger Gary Levine of Poughkeepsie.

To me, it goes way beyond the fact that Jonathan Smith's campaign for Assemblymember for the 102nd Assembly district has been strongly endorsed by the Hyde Park, LaGrange, and Fishkill Dem Committees...
Frankly, perhaps it means more to my decision on this matter that quite a few of the long-time progressive Dems that I've worked with in Dutchess for well over a decade have chosen to strongly endorse Jonathan as well.

LaGrange, New York - The LaGrange Democratic Committee endorsed Jonathan Smith for State Assembly in the 102nd district. The committee overwhelmingly voted to endorse Smith who has now won 3 out of the 4 Democratic Town Committees that have endorsed in this race, including Fishkill and Hyde Park.
