Poughkeepsie - In a continued wave of momentum for the Smith for Assembly campaign, the Working Families Party has endorsed Jonathan Smith for State Assembly in the 102nd District to unseat Joel Miller this November.

On Tuesday, June 3, the Working Families Party confirmed through a statement and an endorsement that Jonathan Smith represents the needs of Hudson Valley working families.

Coming off of an overwhelming victory at the Dutchess County Democratic Convention, Jonathan Smith has the momentum and grassroots organization to defeat fourteen year Republican incumbent Joel Miller in November.

“I am proud of the great support for this movement of change in New York.  It is imperative that we restore trust and integrity to our government and change the way we represent our communities.” said Smith.

"My commitment to the residents of the 102nd district is strong but simple: I will work tirelessly, every single day to represent our children, working women and men, and the many residents of this district who are in desperate need of help.” Smith added. “I thank the leaders and members of the Working Families Party for this powerful early endorsement and will be an advocate for our friends in labor.”

The 102nd district includes the towns of Poughkeepsie, Hyde Park, Clinton, LaGrange, Wappinger, and Fishkill.
